There are two subjects in the Technologies learning area. The first is Design and Technologies and the second is Digital Technologies.
Students develop skills in creating solutions for now and the future in both subjects.
At East Kenwick Primary School, students study Digital Technologies in Semester 1 and Design and Technologies in Semester 2.
We are lucky to have a fully functional STEM Room equipped with laptops for student use. Also in this area, students are able to explore and use their problem solving and inquiry skills to solve real world problems using their knowledge and skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. STEM education offers students a platform to learn how to collaborate, communicate, think creatively and critically, and use their imagination in a safe place. STEM offers students an integrated approach to learning and has increased their engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
